Along with the large retrospective exhibition curated by graphic designer David Carballal, Moscoso Cosmos. The Visual Universe of Victor Moscoso is part of a research project started more than five years ago that vindicates the legacy of the Galician artist Victor Moscoso (Vilaboa, Oleiros, 1936), a pioneer of North American psychedelic graphics and one of the most influential designers in the twentieth century. With texts by Steven Heller, artistic director of the New York Times and by the curator of the exhibition, the catalog covers Moscoso’s extensive career, and includes his best-known works, such as the famous series of psychedelic posters made between 1966 and 67 or his participation in the magazine Zap Comix with Robert Crumb and Rick Griffin, among others.
