Exit #82. Sentimientos. Feelings

Exit #82. Sentimientos. Feelings

01/07/2021

Much feeling. The pages of EXIT 82 are full of pain, loneliness and sadness, also love, desire, pleasure, well-being, anger and joy. EXIT 82 is dedicated to feelings and how photography is able to catch them in a blink, in a wink, before it runs off the edge of the lens. The central texts of this issue propose a journey through the history of photography as a “carrier” of feelings as sugges- ted by Laura Terré; and a revisit to Jill Greenberg’s images of crying children by Paul Wombell that anticipate the current political situation in the United States. The feelings are many more than one can ever imagine. We have worked them from the narrative —photographers who explain a story full of emotions— with Nobuyoshi Araki, Pedro Meyer, Kelli Con- nell, Laura Stevens, Larry Sultan and Florian van Roekel; from expressions — artists who focus on faces and how they ex- press feelings — with Kader Attia, Tracey Moffatt, Dawn Parsonage, Edward Rozzo, Sam Taylor Johnson, Antoine d’Agata,Bas Jan Ader and Christopher Anderson; and we have dedicated a nal section to see how technological advances havebecome entagled with emotions, a fact that is transmitted in the projects of Satoshi Fujiwara, Clément Lambelet and Lauren McCarthy and Kyle McDonald. In Portfolio, the section in which we give space to the most interesting photographers of the new generations, we pre- sent Lucero Alomía, Luis Carlos Tovar, Helena Goñi, Alison Luntz and Fábio Cunha. Laugh, cry … even yawn, all feelings and emotions t into the new EXIT 82 Feelings.
