“The wineries and hotels selected for this book refer to projects developed in the last ten years and are divided into five wine regions of our country, namely: Green Wine, Porto and Douro, Lisbon and Tagus, Alentejo and Azores. …) Our approach pretended to be plural about the generations of the designers, to their conceptual, formal and constructive proposals. Based on the analysis of the constructed, a particularity that is interesting to highlight, the fact that contrary to what happens with wines, in the case of wineries, we can not establish a direct relationship between them and each of the wine regions where they are placed, however, in a first impression, this sample seems to reveal different criteria in the treatment of volumes, scales and dialogue with the environment (…) Sometimes the past is evoked with the use of vernacular materials and techniques, however, the most surprising and transversal issue to all projects is the integration of modern equipment and the latest technologies, which replace the ancestral processes of wine production.
