We witness in these pages the minimal epics, some crazy, almost mystical others, of those who have broken the material to leave a memory of the species.
Is there a difference between the spiral sound recorded by Sagan on the golden disk of the Pioneer and the one that plunges its salty back into the salty waters of Lake Utah traced by Smithson? Do we not say the same thing when deciphering the triple writing of the Rosetta Stone that when we bury a time capsule, made only of strips of paper that reduce the entropy of the world with its order?
These mysteries, of which the author speaks to us with passion and liveliness, but which he does not expressly attempt to elucidate, although he tries to expose them with all their consequences, confront us with the deepest of human conditions: that of being creators of spaces symbolic and founders of places.
