Architecture. Hiroshi Sugimoto

07/05/2020

In this publication, Hiroshi Sugimoto revisits the most emblematic buildings of modern architecture from around the world taken with a large-format camera enabling the photographer to set manually his focal point. Using this technique, each building has a particular blur. Sugimoto invites the viewer in a journey beyond the architectural subject, questioning the role of architecture in our daily life as well as the role of photography faced with buildings. These iconic constructions become, through Sugimoto’s lens, fully-fledged pictorial artworks.
